With the advent of Android it was expected that ‘android’ will turn from ore of a mobile firmware to a universally compatible OS.
Such that it will have the support for almost all of the cell phones processors and boards range.And that the drivers for sounds, graphics, wifi , bluetooth etc may be added manually to the android , the drivers being provided by the cell phone manufacturers. Its more advanced and easy approach to use and modify cell phones according to the needs and comforts.
Inspite too much advancements in android technology and hardware polishing, we havent come out of this basic issue, that eachdevice will go for its firmware to work. The concept need be changed, A device has to perform on any OS (or say any version of android) to the extent that it turns on, displays mediocre graphics, and then comes the firmware part to the extent of drivers where more precision and more compatibility is granted by the manufacturer. This will make android the king of cell phone OS.
And if its not for android , then yes i hope Ubuntu is coming out to be more compatible as compared to android , for a wider range of cell phone and tablets support.
